Cabin Eats

Birthday time at the cabin! An outstanding quadruple layer chocolate cake. Served on a vintage yellow plate from Medicine Hat, AB along with fresh garden mint and strawberries. Recipes here.

Karlin’s version of the Tarte Flambée with red onions and thick cut Canadian bacon. Original A Michelin and A Mom recipe here.

My best friend caught this trout from her kayak!

Fresh trout with herbs from our garden, lemon and butter; baked in foil.

Everyone has their favourite version of guacamole – this is mine:
2 avocados
1-2 cloves garlic, crushed
1-2 limes, juiced (test for taste after one, add another if you need it)
spoonful of salsa
spoonful of sour cream
salt to taste

Hey Kar, what about the glossy oh-so-rich looking frosting recipe? It looks amazing! Love the vintage plate. Xo
